Emily Irene VanCamp initially aspired to become a professional actress however, she became intrigued following a visit to Katie at the Ladies Room film set. As she took acting classes and directing, she was also offered part-time roles in Canadian television programs. A few of the series she was a part of, among other ones included: Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a huge career break after he was tapped to play regular Sam Dolan in WB's horror mystery series Glory Days. Even although the show had received favorable reviews, the show unfortunately was cancelled after only 9 episodes due to the low ratings. In reality, she was swift in securing another role as Amy Abbott on Everwood. The role she played in the film earned her four Teen Choice Awards nominations and a Young Artist Award.
